Global Exposure & Opportunities
Global Design Projects, Innovation Challenges, and Competitions
FIT IUP encourages students to engage in international design studios, innovation challenges, and global competitions. Through these activities, students work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams to solve real-world problems, strengthen creative and technical skills, and gain international recognition through global platforms.
Meet Sat-Set Team: International Winner of ASHRAE Applied Engineering Challenge
A team of ITB students from Engineering Physics and Pharmaceutical Science and Technology won the ASHRAE 2022 Setty Family Foundation Applied Engineering Challenge by designing an adaptive and energy-efficient ultra-cold refrigeration system for vaccine transportation. Their solution maintains a stable –70°C temperature, integrates intelligent control and renewable energy, and addresses critical global challenges in vaccine distribution. This achievement demonstrates the strong multidisciplinary, adaptive, and innovative learning culture of ITB students in solving real-world global challenges.
Meet the Champions of the Unilever Global Challenge
A multidisciplinary team of ITB and UGM students won the Unilever Future Leaders’ League (UFLL) Global Round 2024 in London. Together with students from SBM ITB and UGM, a student from Industrial Engineering, brought Indonesia into the global spotlight alongside participants from 19 countries.
The team developed an integrated business and supply chain strategy to expand Unilever’s Lady’s Choice mayonnaise into international markets, focusing on the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Their solution combined marketing, export–import planning, and supply chain optimization, supported by creative presentation and global benchmarking.
As the youngest participants in the competition, their achievement highlights the multidisciplinary, innovative, and globally competitive learning culture at ITB, particularly within the Faculty of Industrial Technology.
Ganara Team: L’Oréal Brandstorm 2025 National Winner
A multidisciplinary team of ITB students won the National Winner title at L’Oréal Brandstorm 2025 and will represent Indonesia at the international finals in Paris. The team includes a student from Industrial Engineering program, alongside members from other disciplines.
Their innovation, ReviveMist, is a practical no-rinse facial care product for men, designed to offer convenient daily skincare without the need for water or wipes. The solution was praised by L’Oréal Indonesia’s CEO for its strong market relevance and global potential, highlighting the team’s innovative and multidisciplinary problem-solving capabilities.
“Our project was developed through global case studies and international mentoring, and it led us to win an international competition.”
Through coursework guided by our lecturers and professors, we worked on a recent case inspired by global challenges. We refined our design based on international standards and best practices.
This learning experience prepared us to participate in an international student competition, where our team was recognized for its innovation and technical quality.
